Macro Practice
While I had my camera out on the beach in Hilton Head I practiced taking macro shots (close-up, reallllly close). In order to be able to get inches away from the subject, and still be able to focus, you need a special lens. Before I got my 100mm Macro, Pam Byrd was kind enough to lend me hers! Macro photography is challenging because you are focusing withing such a small sliver of a focal plane, that just the motion of breathing can throw you totally out of focus! And when you are trying to photograph in the rush and excitement of a wedding, it can become even more challenging. Yikes! But like anything, it just takes some practice. Good thing it is a LOT of fun! :) I often practice with my rings, just like I did here. It can sometimes be challenging to think of creative ring shots on the fly! So the more practice, the better!
