Office Makeover| Northern Virginia Photographer
Last week I was on a bit of a blogging hiatus due to family being in town and busy schedules. I was sad to see my “Grandma Boo” leave today. She was here for an extended visit and I loved being able to spend time with her. But now she is on her way back to Oklahoma and it is back to work for me.
During her visit, grandma helped make some decisions about paint colors and hardware selections for my new office furniture. I found a couple of key pieces from antique stores and thrift stores and gave them a make-over with some fresh grey chalk paint and brass hardware (blog post coming soon). But I also needed some extra shelving. I searched everywhere for the perfect size shelves and found these from Ikea. I actually saw an Ikea “hack” on Pinterest and thought I’d give it a try! So here are my new gold étagères!
I will be posting bits and pieces of my new office space as the details start coming together. My entire business entity will be “under construction” as this Northern Virginia Photographer revamps her brand (there will also be another blog post about this)! For now, I’m starting with my work space. I want the new branding to touch every aspect of the business, and that includes behind the scenes stuff. The walls in my office are now a light coral/pink and the furniture is a mix of dark stained wood, light grey, and gold. It is coming together very nicely, and I can’t wait until it is all finished! I will share as things evolve in this process, and I hope to have everything ready by January.
This is the “before” photo. The shelves are made of a dark brown metal frame.
…here they are “in progess”…
And here is the final product (minus the glass shelving). I think I’m really liking them!
