Winter’s Peace | Kristen Lynne Photography | Warrenton Wedding Photographer

It’s early in the morning.  I’m still in my fleece pajamas cuddled up in my computer chair writing yet another blog post.  I used to loath wintertime.  My favorite season is fall and I appreciate and enjoy the cool crisp breeze it brings.  But I do not like to be down-right cold and usually hate winter.  However I feel that I may be changing my mind yet again.  Don’t get me wrong,  I still hate to be cold…  But there is something peaceful about winter.  I tend to enjoy my hot coffee in the mornings a little more,  I love to cuddle up with a fluffy throw (which is a huge no-no in the summer) and browse other photographer’s blogs,  and the family all likes to sit a little closer to each other.  ;)  But most of all,  it is “off season” for photographers.  I think this is the main reason I’m starting to embrace winter.  It is the much needed hiatus for us after a long season of shooting.  I love,  love,  love photography,  but this past year (and past six months) have been a whirlwind!  I know December will continue to be busy with client design sessions,  planning a styled shoot,  working feverishly to be ready for the business’ relaunching,  and getting ready for Christmas…  But I’m shocked at how much I’m looking forward to January and February next year!  I’m starting to appreciate being able to pause for a moment and enjoy the peace that the “off season” brings.
