Interview with a Real Bride!
Angie (Bride) & Kirk (Groom)
Q: When was your wedding?
A: May 17, 2014.
Q: Where did your wedding & ceremony take place?
A: Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling, VA.
Q: How many people attended your wedding?
A: 90.
Q: How much time did you have to plan your wedding?
A: 9 months.
Q: Did you have help with the wedding planning? If so, explain.
A: We did most of the planning ourselves.
Q: How did you find your photographer?
A: A friend’s recommendation.
Q: Did you meet with them before hiring them? Do you think this helped in the decision making process? Why or why not?
A: Yes! We had such a good feeling after talking to our photographer about her professionalism and warmth. Seeing her work and her products in person also reassured us that we were choosing a quality photographer.
Q: What was one of the most memorable moments from your wedding?
A: Definitely the first look. It was so sweet to get to share our pre-wedding excitement together. We kept looking at each other like “Holy cow! We’re about to get MARRIED!”
Q: What was the biggest challenge on that day?
A: Delegating. I am super type A and I had to learn to stop worrying about everything the day of the wedding and trust everything to go the way it was meant to.
Q: What’s the biggest piece of advice you can give to other brides that are planning their wedding?
A: Any bride will tell you not to sweat the small stuff and to slow down and just enjoy your day. It’s true. I figured if I was married at the end of the day, it was a successful day no matter what else happened.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share with other brides?
A: Remember to carve out time during the process to enjoy each other as a couple. Make date nights with no-wedding-talk policies a regular thing.
