The Little Workshop Experience

The Little Workshop Experience with Michael & Carina Photography

Virginia Film Wedding Photographer

As a professional photographer it is always my goal to continue improving my skills. This means practice, practice, practice and try to learn as much as I can. I love to attend workshops when I’m able to. My dear friends Michael and Carina Photography hosted their first workshop and I didn’t want to miss it! They are insanely talented and very successful. Our friendship started when Michael reached out to me by calling me one day to introduce himself and complimented my work! I couldn’t believe it! Who does that? Apparently awesome people do! :)

Ever since then we’ve become friends and I’ve learned so much from them, so it only made sense that I attend their first workshop!!!! I am eager to share my photos from the workshop at a later time, but in the meantime I can share some behind the scenes shots I took in between the (gorgeous) photo shoots Michael and Carina had for us at The Little Workshop! These are all photos from the inside of the farmhouse the workshop was held.

The workshop was held at The Lewis Homestead. Kristin is also a photographer and opens up her home to rent to other photographers for photo shoots… And you can see why! Her home is stunning to say the least. Tons of natural light, beautiful details, neutral colors, with that old farmhouse/cozy feel. It is basically my dream house and I would be renting this house out every other weekend if only I lived closer!!! I also loved that Kristin had photos of her wedding day on her walls. <3 …Something that warms photographer’s hearts.

As far as the workshop goes, Michael and Carina did not disappoint. They went above and beyond, just like I knew they would! We poured over their presentation that was packed with info about film, running a business, marketing, etc. I found myself to absorbed into what they were saying that I forgot to take notes!!!! Thankfully I realized this before we got half way into the lecture and started taking notes, haha. Then we had some (wonderful) lunch and the photo shoots began! The talented craftsmen and artists that participated in making these photo shoots happen did an amazing job! I simply can’t wait to share all of the stunning beauty that filled the rooms (and outside farm areas) of this house.

Thank you Michael & Carina for sharing your knowledge and advice with us! The Little Workshop was a great experience that I will always remember!
