I used to think that writing out a list of goals was overrated… until I finally took the advice of several photographers and actually DID it. My first year in business was a success and I think it was partly because I had a written goals list from the start. So this chick is on the “goals list” bandwagon for good! I have a small notebook where I’ve written down my goals, but that can be (and was) easily forgotten about. So this year as I finish decorating my office space I am going to post my goals in writing on a giant mirror so I can see them everyday!

It was easy to post my goals from 2013 because I knew that I had accomplished many of them! But it is a little intimidating sharing my goals for 2014. I know some of these goals are lofty and sharing them with you raises the expectation for me to meet them. It would be so much easier for me to just keep them in my little teal notebook in my desk drawer, celebrate my little private victories, and sweep the rest under the rug. But this is a REAL journey that I’m on and I want to be open about where I want to be! I want to inspire other photographers and small business owners to go for it and root for each other. I might not get to cross all of these off the list this year, but I’m sure going to try. And no matter how scary it is to post my goals for all to see, I need to!

Just like my list of goals evolved throughout the year in 2013, I’m sure this list will do the same. As new challenges and circumstance arise, I will add and/or revise this list of goals. But I’d say I’ve got plenty to start working on! :)
