Beauty Session Portfolio Day 1 | Kristen Lynne Photography | Early Mountain Vineyard Photographer
Ever since I started my business I’ve wanted to get into women’s portraiture. In fact, for my very first photo shoot I traveled down to VA Beach to photograph my beautiful friend, Jessica! And I loved it!!!! It was a blast doing her hair and make up and then doing her photo shoot on the beach! So when I officially opened my doors for business I stated that I was a wedding and portrait photographer. Right? Wrong! I think when most people hear a photographer does “portraits” they think of family pictures. And that is exactly what I got inquires and bookings for. I wasn’t getting many inquiries for women’s portraits which is something I really enjoy doing.
When running a business, it sometimes hard to see the forest through the trees. It took me a year, but I FINALLY realized that simply announcing that I do portraits isn’t going to cut it. At least not if I wanted to get the message across that I want to do photo shoots specifically geared towards women! So I’m reinventing the wheel a bit and giving this another shot!
I want to provide an experience for women that will leave them feeling confident and beautiful! The Beauty Sessions offer just that. They are pampered the day of the session with getting their hair and makeup done by a professional stylist. Then we spend an hour or two of “girl time” with the photo shoot. And my favorite part is their design and ordering consult where they get to see their pictures for the first time! My goal is to leave each woman with her entire experience and photos making her feel empowered and beautiful.
I know I’ve been talking about since the fall of last year, but it is finally coming to fruition! I have everything set for my new Beauty Sessions, but the last thing to check off the list is to build up my portfolio. I set aside two Saturdays to schedule photo shoots for anyone that was interested in modeling for me. This past Saturday was the first day of sessions and it went fabulously! Jacquelyn from Enlightened Styles joined me and provided hair and makeup services for each lady. I rented out the oh-so fabulous Guest Cottage at Early Mountain Vineyard and we made a day of it!
I’m SO excited to show you a quick sneak peek of the ladies’ Beauty Sessions. I’m so excited with the way they came out! I can’t wait to show the rest once the film scans return!!!
