One of the big events held here in the heart of horse-county, Virginia is the Gold Cup Races. This event is held twice a year, in the fall and in the spring. Of course the spring Gold Cup Races is always a huge event! People get dressed up in their Sunday’s best and have fun on a sunny spring day at the race track. I’m sad to say that I’ve only been to the races once! What’s even more crazy is that the races are held only 10 minutes from my home. Ha! But each year I love to see pictures from the event… mostly because of all of the fun hats I get to see. I think getting dressed up is the best part of the entire event!!! So I’ve put together a couple of fun outfits for fun..
One of my favorite parts of the Virginia Gold Cup Races are the hats that the women wear. They can be SO much fun! I think the more unique, the better. But you don’t have to go crazy and get something really off the wall. Pick out a really nice piece that compliments your skin tones and face shape. You can go with something simple, traditional, very unique, bright colors, neutral colors, etc. If you have a fun personality go for the really unique and interesting piece. If you are more conservative (like me) pick out something that is maybe smaller, monotone, but still fun. I LOVE the blue and green outfits above! But if you want to be able to wear the hat again, maybe stick with a wide-brim straw hat and really play up your dress and accessories!
