I really enjoyed me time with these two during their engagement session. When we had bad weather on our first attempt at the end of last fall, we decided to be very patient and wait until the Spring. And boy, did it ever pay off! We were blessed with the most perfect weather we could have asked for! It a perfect Sunday afternoon to walk around Middleburg and take pictures. Lyle and Kristen are both really sweet and genuine people (and did I mention that they are both hilarious and so much fun to talk to?).

It’s times like these when I have to pinch myself and say, “how blessed am I to be able to do this as my job?” I mean, really! It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I drove with my assistant in training (aka, my brother – yes, this continues to be a family endeavor) with our windows rolled down through the back roads of Virginia. We took in the beautiful breeze, beautiful countryside, and then got to meet up with an amazing couple to chat and walk around in the cutest town ever… AND we got to take pictures documenting this exciting time in their relationship!

I kept thinking about Lyle and Kristen on our drive back home from their session (windows rolled down again, of course, this time enjoying the ending of a perfect Virginia sunset). I was thinking about how great the session went and how excited I was for their wedding. I’m honored that they asked me to document this very special day in their lives. I won’t only feel like their photographer, I will feel like a friend that will be there to cheer them on and help them celebrate their love for each other. I just get the privilege of witnessing it from behind the lens. I’m so excited to share their engagement photos with you. I hope you enjoy them and can see their love for each other!
