I absolutely love a pretty and simplistic dress! I love the idea of a simple yet famine outfit for a beauty session, or even an engagement session. I love to wear patterns sometimes, but when you’re thinking about selecting an outfit for photos, I find that simpler is better. What do you want people to see, your bright pink flamingo and palm tree pants, or your beautiful face!? Ok, so that may a bit extreme (I haven’t had anyone show up in flamingo pants… yet!) but you get the idea. ;)

I also love, love, love natural (and neutral) colors. Just because I say natural doesn’t mean there has to be a lack of color. Deep rich jewel tones can be found in nature all over (especially this time of year). But I caution clients to stay clear of really bright/loud colors or those really trendy neons from J.Crew. Yes… I love them too, but you don’t want to look back 10 years from now at your photos and think… “Oh gosh, that shirt was SO 2014!!!!” Stick with something classic and there’s a good chance you will love your photos for years and years!!!
