Real Bride Interview: Sylvie & Andrew at Salamander Resort
Q: When was your wedding?
A: May 24, 2015
Q: Where did your wedding ceremony & reception take place?
A: The Salamander Resort and spa. Our ceremony was in the garden, followed by cocktail hour and reception is the Upperville room which features its own private terrace.
Q: How many people attended your wedding?
A: We had 25 guest
Q: How much time did you have to plan your wedding?
A: 1 year
Q: Did you have help with the wedding planning?
A: Once we found our venue, The Salamander Resort and spa, we worked with Lindsay Forseth who we had meetings with and many emails leading up to the Wedding. We did the food tasting 3 months before which we also planned how the day would run, times, choose table clothes, candles and all the small details. It was so easy and the day of everything was perfect and they handled it all. Kristen also was a big help in the planning and the time frame she made to have everything run smoothly and made sure we got all the shots we wanted. She had great suggestions as well. She also met with Lindsay on her own to coordinate. With the two of them I did not have to worry about a thing.
Q: Where did you get your inspiration from for your décor and theme?
A: Once we knew were the wedding would be I knew exactly what I wanted to do, I wanted it to be very natural, with blush pink, whites and greens. I then went to Pinterest to see what other brides have done and sent pictures to my florist and she took it from there.
Q: What was one of the most memorable moments from your wedding?
A: Arriving to the ceremony in the horse drawn carriage. It was a short time I was alone and taking everything in then pulling up to the ceremony site and seeing it for the first time, it felt like a dream.
Q: What is your favorite picture from your day?
A: My favorite would be pictures of my husband and I at the reception, the candid ones, you can really see how happy we are.
Q: What was the biggest challenge on that day?
A: Getting everyone ready and making sure everyone is one time and all the small important things like the rings are with the right people.
Q: What’s the biggest piece of advice you can give to other brides that are planning their wedding?
A: Remember it’s you and your future husband’s day and you have to do want the two of you truly want. And don’t be afraid to delegate. If you try to do everything yourself you will become stressed very quickly. Also, have fun, it goes by so fast.
