This past Saturday we had a blast! I was SO thankful to work with Jacquelyn from Enlightened Styles again. I found this fantastic home in Delaplane, VA to rent for the day! This house (“One Nest“) has been featured in home magazines, no surprise there! What sold it for me was the white walls and TALL floor-ceiling windows. Everything about this house was perfect for the Beauty Sessions! 

So once I was able to stop drooling over this space, I started to set up for the five ladies that were to arrive! I had an amazing time getting to know each of them (or in some cases spend some time with friends). Photographing each one of them was a dream.

My favorite part of the entire day is when I show them a sneak peek on the back of my camera, and their face lights up! I love seeing and hearing their reactions, “that’s me?!”

The message that our society and the media portrays is that you have to be a size 00, have plastic surgery, and wear revealing clothes in order to be “beautiful.” I couldn’t disagree more! I think every woman has inner beauty AND natural outer beauty. These (totally wrong) notions that today’s society imposes on women is disgusting. And what’s more, is that there are women out there (beautiful women inside and out) that lessen their self worth because of this twisted message. I feel it is my mission to show women how beautiful they truly are and make them feel confident in their own skin. I enjoy talking to the girls during the photo session and learning about their lives, what is important to them, what their loves are… It is THE BEST when they come to life telling me about what they are proud of and what their passions are. I want to capture that sparkle in their eyes and show them, “See, YOU are amazing!”
