Belle Lumière Magazine | Charlottesville Wedding Photographer
I recently wrote a journal entry about film books that I’ve read, you can see this entry here. I’m always on the look out for books and magazines related to film. I love both instructional and inspirational books and magazines! So I was thrilled when I saw the FaceBook post where Belle Lumière was advertising their sale on the first three volumes! I immediately headed over to the store and purchased the first three, then when the fourth was available I bought that too!
Lexi Vornburg is the founder of Lemonade and Lenses (Belle Lumière’s sister magazine) which is also amazing. But the reason I’m SO drawn to Belle Lumière is that it only features film!!! As you know, I have absolutely fallen in love with film over the last year and I’m always eager to learn more and be inspired by other’s work. I truly believe that film allows photographers to be artists again, at least this is true for me. Film FORCES you to slow down in a fast paced world of digital 10fps and virtually unlimited GB and it allows you to enjoy the moment that is before you.
But anywho! I think you see that I’m a big fan of film. So when all four volumes of Belle Lumière showed up at my door step I was SUPER excited. I loved to just grab a glass of iced tea, curl up on the couch, and slowly take in each page. These magazines, and the photographers featured in them, are fabulous and I would recommend them to anyone that is interested in fine art film photography. And I will leave you with this… you might be asking what does “Belle Lumière” mean? It means “beautiful light.” – On pointe.
If you are interested in ordering any/all of the volumes you can do so here.
