This was the second time I’ve photographed a wedding at Riverside on the Potomac, and over a year later and I still loved it just as much as the first time! This Leesburg venue offers the quintessential rustic barn setting for brides and grooms. I’ve loved hearing about Julia & Brendan’s wedding plans over the past months, so naturally I couldn’t wait to see what they did with the space for their wedding! And I’m pretty sure it turned out even better than they had dreamed.

On my drive down to the venue Saturday morning the clouds were dumping rain on us. I knew what must have been going through Julia’s mind as she had plans for an outdoor ceremony. Everyone was checking the forecast and there was a small chance that the rain would stop in time for the ceremony. So naturally all morning I had been saying little prayers that the skies would clear for their ceremony. And wouldn’t you know… Maybe 20 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start the rain stopped, the clouds went away, and the sun came out. How awesome!

The ceremony was beautiful out on the patio and the cocktail hour to follow was a treat! The whole day ended up being so wonderful. Julia and Brendan’s guests danced in the barn late into the night, all having a grand time! One of my favorite details at the reception was their guest book. They bought an Instax camera and asked their guests to take pictures of each other and put them in the guest book with a note (I’m sure you can guess why I love it so much). ;)
